Two of my students are interested in Economics. One in GCSE second year thinking about doing Economics for A-Level. Another one in Lower Sixth finding out about top universities for Economics. Our first stop of their exploration journey is Oxford University, guided by my friend who did BA Economics and Management degree in Said Business School in Oxford.
We started with a brief tour of the Radcliff Camera and the library, and then entered Brasenose College, the college where our guide used to live and study. Here we had a tour of the courts, saw the dorms from outside, chatted with the porter about the lastest match results in the boat club.
During the tour and later over coffee, our guide shared with us his experience studying in Oxford, which too my students' suprise, is much colourful, fun and relaxed than our students thought. Peter also shared a question that he still remembers from his Oxford interview, and told us how he prepared for the entrance exam and interview. We also talked about careers that economics degrees lead to.
